RetroMods is a fan-made community dedicated to classic consoles, PC modding, and preservation of gaming history. The site brings together tutorials, community artwork, music, and long-form discussion in one place.

Our goal is to make it easy to discover new projects, share your own work, and learn from other modders & creators. None of this exists without the community, so thank you for hanging out here and building cool things.

RetroMods was founded in 2022 by Zachary McNair (ramenzack) who wanted to make a hub for the PC and console modding community since seperate commnunities on seperated places was getting hard to manage and keep up with. He made RetroMods to be a place where modders and creators can share their work, find resources, and connect with others who share their passion for gaming and modding. The Discord server wasn't enough so we made this website in July of 2025 from the ground up. Zack made the first account on the site in November 21, 2025 and has been the only user on the site for a while until we opened up registrations in early 2026.
